Thanks guys it's really a big relief I can tell you that.
We've got some heating now, so we've moved home which is good too. Now I just have to find a reliable and decent pump to buy. I've got to contact a couple of suppliers to see about warranties. I bought and aquabee for pumping water from my sump to my display. I pulled it apart to clean it, and the shaft broke trying to clean it. That pissed me off, but now I came home to find my skimmer not working. SO I pulled it apart to clean it, hooked it to the power to test it to see if it would start, and the shaft sheered off. Fucking ceramic shit. I thought airstar pumps were supposed to be good pumps

What sort of heating did you go with????. I am amazed that heating was not in the house!!!! Hell our house Arizona which is a long way from the pole has heating in the winter!!!!

| At this stage we've only put in a 2.5kw split system, so it's able to heat and cool. They aren't rated for a big area, but since the house is well insulated, and I put in double glazed window's, it's handling it well. We did have heaters when I bought the house, but I pulled them out, as they were costing alot of money to run. Since this one is handling the cold so far, we're thinking of not putting a decent unit in for a while (ducted heating) and spend the money on other things instead.

| Sounds like something we call a heat pump in the US. Our Az house has one of those. They generally use them when the winter Temps do not drop too low (less than 0C). The brand we have is Carrier. The house I am renting in Colorado (and the one we owned) had a separate Forced Air Furnace . When we lived in New York we had a Hot Water system with radiators. I prefer Hot Water systems for comfort since the air does not get dry, and you don't have drafts. However the house we owned in Colorado humidified the air prior to exhausting. The hot water systems are more expensive due to all the plumbing.

Sounds a little different, but sounds to be the same principle. When I get more time, I'll try to find some more info on them.
Just waiting to hear on some replacement impellers now for a couple of pumps

Ahh you got a mini split heat pump, I install those things all the time. I did 8 of them in one week 2 weeks ago.... I currently have a contract with the local "Native American" tribe, and let me tell you that is a real treat... I got threatened by one last week, he thought I was an undercover cop....
Mine gets installed on Monday! and with the rebates and tax credit I will be at about $300 out the door when everything is said and done. Cheaper than a chiller for the tank and I get cooling from it too!

It's a great unit, 2.5kwhr it's rated for and it's heating the house. It's a good workout for it this winter, as it's bloody cold. I still wouldn't mind a ducted unit, as it will heat the bedrooms a bit better. I have 1 downstairs in the room where I plan to set up my fish tank room, so it'll do the same job for me.
Better talk tanks I've had some shit luck, I broke the impeller on both my return pump and skimmer pump, ( have replacement parts now) so things have been shit. I've still got bryopsis, but I'm hoping that I'm getting it under control. I'm trying to get back into a regular routine of water changes and testing, as I've been too busy, and tired to do it. Plus lack of motivation Hard to keep keen when things look like shit. Aiptasia are a bit of a problem too, but I'm hoping to get that under control. I'm starting to get coraline algae which is a welcome site.
I've done a bit of work on the stand for my plywood tank. The tank's just collecting dust, but I finally found the time and motivation to get the stand epoxied. A few bristles came of the first paint brush I used, but it adds some feature I couldn't match the finish of the tank, as I would need smooth timber, a sponge roller, and some how get the finish to bubble to look like it's got sand in the finished product Now I've got to clean up my tank room, pull the stand apart to get it in the room, and get it set up properly. I'll add some trim to it later, once it's set up.
I'll get around to pic's later I'm too sore to worry about them atm, I've had a bad flu, and the cough is still persisting. I'm starting my 2nd course of anti-biotics, to try to break the cough. It's that bad, that I'm gagging from coughing so hard, and I've pulled the muscles in my stomach on the left side. Fucking hurts when I cough now. Don't feel like doing shit as a result.
