Don't kid yourself... |
Ditto that, Chris does not have all your Credit Card bills with nothing to show but an empty tank...

Yeah, but I got the bills It's good to be getting stuff done.
I've got the tank to about half full now, but I've decided to fill it right up and test it out. IF the resin is set properly, which it should be, it should take the pressure. I only worry about the point loads from not having the floor level. The 2nd lot of resin I put in the overflow box cracked and failed. I will fill the tank with water, then re-do the resin in the fucked up area. I'll make time to get some pic's tommorrow.

I got a few pic's of the tank last night.
Here's the tank in the shed,

A few wet shots,

A bit hard to see, but where you can see the container, that's the water level. It's about 2" below the level for the overflow.

The duct tape is the water level,

The left side of the overflow box is finished, but I have to re-do the right side, as the resin didn't take

I've now got to pump the water out. I've bought new hose fittings, as the ones that came with the hose leak I plan to move the tank into our old room where there's a heater. I need to fix up the outside of the tank. It's taken a few knocks since I've had limited space and had to move it by myself. Now hopefully when I move it, it can stay in 1 spot untill it's finished.

| Looking really good. What are you planning for the outside? Natural wood, tile, or is this going inwall?

It's getting there This tank is more an experiment on idea's atm, but I'm thinking of painting the outside. It'll be a free standing tank, just a very plain stand so I can get things moving on it. When I do set it up, it'll be in my current fish room, which will later be renovated and turned into my office. I'll move the tanks out into my rumpus room, which I plan to convert to my dedicated fish tank room. I'm thinking of doing an in wall tank for this. The plywood tank will probably be converted to a softies tank, and have some fish I wouldn't have in a reef tank. I've always wanted a lionfish, and I think it would look good with the softies, and maybe some small angels.

| That sounds like a pretty cool plan. At least the tank wont need major maintainance and your husbandry wont have to be super high. Sometimes I wish I didnt have sps and need to stay on top of my waterchanges so much.

Lion fish... Boo Hiss my fuzzy dwarf Lion ate 4 fish before I sold it back the the LFS for a $15 profit (if you do not include the $95 worth of fish it ate) . Your Small angels may become expensive fish food.

Good point Dave
The light's are on Barry, but it was night time, and the lights aren't good. When I move the tank, the lights will be better for taking photo's. I'll try to move the tank soon, and take some new pictures.

I still like to do water changes, so I have to have some gear nearby. When I move the tank, I'll do some planning on how to run bulkheads or ducts to hide plumbing and electricals to keep it neat. As for SPS, I like them, so I want to keep a few, but not many. The dosing doesn't worry me to much, but I don't want to big a demand on the system.
