You may have a little bit of salt or something stuck in the air meter. Is there anyway to clean it?

Yea, if your meter has gotten wet its worthless. If you were originally pulling 80scfh and now your at 55scfh and everything seems pretty normal then your meter is screwed. It is really hard to make a 1500 only pull 44-55scfh.

originally were pulling 80scfh when i first connect up but generally reduce the performance time to time. i have never wet the meter tbh.

anyway, i have lower the water level to be exact 20cm and it seems the skimmer is doing 60scfh now.

the ATB skimmer still at 44 scfh.

i'm just wondering are there any ways i can tell the meter is faulty?

Adrian you would have to test it on 2 of the exact same skimmer pumps and look at the readings. You can also try to test with a friends meter or if the lfs has a meter to compare results.I don't know if you can send it in for re calibration. You can try to contact the manufacturer.I don't know what you paid for it so you would have to factor in the cost. Can you exchange the meter.Return it and have them send you another one.

i should also add another advantage of the cone body, it use MUCH less water for the skimmer body. by saying that, once the pump is off, i can hardly see water level raise in my sump.

so now i have a question RE a concern bought up by Shermie. does Dwell time really necessary?

My skimmer get's shit in the collection cup, that's all I want to see Laughing I think you'd have to do a test on the skimmate to really determine the best setting. It's like the dry V's wet arguement IMO.
